Criminal Defense Attorney
Joshua Brown was born in Virginia but moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina, with his family when he was in the first grade. He graduated from Nation Ford High School in 2010 and went on to graduate cum laude from Newberry College in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He then received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2017 and was sworn into the South Carolina Bar.
After law school, Joshua clerked for the Honorable Roger E. Henderson in the Fourth Judicial Circuit. His clerkship gave him unique insight into a judge’s thought process when making decisions in both criminal and civil cases. His clerkship also allowed him to travel to different counties throughout the state and learn how solicitors and prosecutors approach cases, as well as what strategies are effective with judges and juries.
In 2019, Joshua joined the Florence County Public Defender’s Office, where he handled cases ranging from shoplifting to murder. He also became very involved in the defense of juveniles. Working with juveniles who often came from lower-income households and difficult backgrounds helped shape Joshua’s understanding of what it truly means to advocate for a client. His time as a public defender strengthened his belief that everyone deserves a lawyer who will fight for them.
A return home to York County led Joshua to join MLB Law in the fall of 2022 as an associate attorney. He joined The Jeffcoat Firm in May 2026. As a member of The Jeffcoat Firm, he continues to handle a variety of criminal cases throughout the Midlands and Upstate.
In his free time, Joshua enjoys spending time with his wife, golfing, fishing, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers. He is extremely appreciative of the opportunity to help fellow members of the community he has called home for most of his life with their legal needs.
